Ski trip to Mt. Hutt, Canterbury. Only 2 hours drive from Christchurch. It is the best place to skiing and snowboarding. It is also renowned as the Southern Alps. The scenery along the way was magnificent and indescribable. We saw pig, llama, horse and sheep farms, green plains, snowcapped mountains, cyan stream, snowstorm, and heavy fogs. We even fixed the snow chains on our sedan's wheels all by ourselves with a small favor from the guys. When we reached the skiing basement, we were not allowed to use the chair lift as the weather was very bad. We felt very frustrated, so we simply played the snow and took pics. Then, we had our lunch in our car while the heaters switched on whilst waiting for a friend who was skiing. The foods were more than people's appetite. We got kek batik, tart telur, keropok ikan, mee goreng, popia, and green tea. After that, we went down the mountains and went back home. Before that, we had to dismantle our snow chains. They smelt really bad. This time, we did it all by ourselves without no one's help. Along our way back home, we found a place to perform our prayers. It was at a camping site where we found a pretty river. Later, we continued our journey and before we got back home, we washed our car at a car wash, plus the vacuuming. Our Toyota Corolla rental car looked like a brand new car! Well indeed, the one-day trip has made our ukhuwah stronger and we knew each other better :)

Picnic at Lake Pegasus
Last week, my friends and I went to Lake Pegasus, only 40 minutes one way from our residential area. We departed around 9.30 am. That morning was bitterly cold and what more at Pegasus, a place which is close to snowcapped mountains. We brought along karipap, roti telur, mee goreng, kek batik and warm green tea. Our main purpose of getting there was to carry out a photoshoot. Hahaha... Not my plan. But my friend's plan, coz she is crazy over photos, plus, she has a dslr. So the photoshoot on that day was so enjoyable. Surprisingly, I was so sporting to take photos with my buds, except that I didn't do the jumping thingy. Huhuhu... Well, what I can say about Pegasus is that, it's just like Putrajaya. But it doesn't have office buildings. It actually resembles to Putrajaya in aspects of elite residential areas, lake, awesome and well-planned town. It's still under construction, anyway. Anyhow, I got a chance to enter one of the show-homes in that area. Not one, but two actually. Well, they are under the same company, Stonewood. I was amazed with the interior designs of the homes. Both are bungalows, but one is one-storey while another one is two-storey. I dream of owning such houses in Malaysia someday. Hehehe... Pie-in-the-sky dream... I also got an opportunity to talk to a Stonewoods' show-home guardian. I asked her about the price of the house and land, the interior design, the development within the radius of Pegasus town as well as the future of the town. She initially seemed dissatisfied when me and friends captured some pics inside the homes, but after I made a friendly conversation with her, she changed to be friendly too. So we must know on how to handle situations especially when we know that we're at a wrong side. Hihihi... Well people, have a look at the pictures :)

Learn and be amazed in NZ
A memo left by Kiwi neighbors next door. This memo shows that the Westerners are very concerned about neighborhood tranquility. They left this memo in our mail box.
This is a butchery selling meats including pork. But see how clean the shop is after business hours. They put cleanliness as a top of priority.
See, almost all houses use yellow light. FYI, the houses will turn totally dark around 10pm. Again, this is only for a purpose of saving electricity.
Definition of Halal proves how concerned the non-Muslims towards the Muslims. But we definitely can't see this at any restaurant in Malaysia.

Rugby Match
An outing with friends on last Friday night to a rugby match between Crusaders and Brumbies made me a lil bit happy after a packed and exhausting week of test, lab, report, and assignment. Well, that was my first time watching a rugby match. It is actually a must for those who live or study in New Zealand to at least watch a rugby match in live once. As a matter of fact, the date on last Friday (May 14) is the same date as the first time rugby match played in New Zealand which was in Nelson in 1870.
The match was held at AMI Stadium Christchurch in Moorehouse Ave. At first, me and friends were clueless in finding our seats. To our surprise, our seats were located far at the left end of the stadium. So, we hurriedly went to Gate G, Door 4A. By the time we found our seats, the match had been started. Crusaders and Brumbies teams had been brought into the field by two helicopters. That's awesome! Unfortunately, I didn't snap that moment when the teams hopped out from the copter. As usual, before the game started, there was a Hakka dance performed. Since Crusaders is a rugby team from Canterbury, therefore, each time they shot a goal, loud music from a row of musicians would be sounded and fire would come out. Whoa! Bila api keluar tu yang best... Panas, panas, panas! It is because, at that night suddenly the atmosphere around the stadium turned gray and foggy. At the half hour of the 2-hour playing time, both teams were excused to have a break while the audiences were entertained with a performance by pom-pom girls. Then, at the end of the match, when Crusaders had been announced as the victor with goals of 35-22, each of the team player threw a rugby ball to the audiences. The lucky audiences would get the balls.
Even if it was a cold night, it was still hot with the victory of Crusaders! Crusaders, go, go, go!!!
p/s: Rugby is seriously a weird sports game. 1 goal is not equal to 1 point. But 1 goal=5 points. For penalty goal, 1 goal=3 points. Additionally, each player has to pass the ball backward (meaning to their team member who is farther away from the goal). I learned rugby rules during the match on last Friday. Lawak, lawak!!!
Displayed are some pics and videos taken and recorded during the match.
